Singing Trees?

Ascribe to the Lord, O families of nations, ascribe to the Lord glory and strength, ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name. Bring an offering and come before him; worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness. Tremble before him, all the earth! The world is firmly established; it cannot be moved. Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let them say among the nations, "The Lord reigns!" Let the sea resound, and all that is in it; let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them! Then the trees of the forest will sing, they will sing for joy before the Lord, for he comes to judge the earth. Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever. -1 Chronicles 16:28-34

This is what the Israelites were singing when the ark was being brought into Jerusalem. King David was dancing "with all his might". (2 Samuel 6:14) That seems to be a rather compelling illustration about God's overwhelming presence. If the Israelites were so exuberant for this physical covenant of the ark, I wonder if we shouldn't be even more spirited now that the covenant is hidden inside our own hearts. We'll have to watch for those singing trees... :)
